Go Below® Contact and Map
We have two bases, our main Conwy Falls Base and also our satellite base at Tanygrisiau. Please make sure that you come to the correct one!
Conwy Falls Base
- Location of our Main Booking Office
- Starting Point for our Half-Day Go Below Challenge Trip
Come to the Conwy Falls Base, just outside Betws-y-Coed if you would like to visit our booking office and talk to our friendly staff about the trips. Our half-day Go Below Challenge trips start from here also, so if you are booked onto one of these trips, this is where you need to come.
What else is here?
As well as our booking office, the Conwy Falls has a large cafe open all year round, serving hot meals, cakes, coffees and teas. There is also a turn-style (£1 fee) providing a short walk down to a spectacular waterfall if you have a free half an hour or so. There are public toilets and a shower onsite, and free Wi-Fi.
Directions:
Our Conwy Falls Base is located on the A5 trunk road at the junction with the B4406 to Penmachno. It is very easy to get to by car either from the south (by taking the A5 from Telford), the west (the A5 from Holyhead) or from the north by coming down the A470 from The A55 coast road. It is just a couple of miles south of the popular tourist village of Betws-y-Coed. Postcode for Satnav is LL24 0PN.

Tanygrisiau Base
- Starting Point for our Go Below Hero Xtreme Trip
- Starting Point for our Go Below Ultimate Xtreme Trip
This base is the place to come if you have booked onto either our Hero Xtreme trip or our Ultimate Xtreme trip.. It is a satellite base only with no booking office. It is located at the Festiniog Railway Tanygrisiau Station.
What else is here?
There are no facilities at our base but about 50 yards along the road can be found the excellent Lakeside Cafe which serves excellent value food and drink (the large all-day breakfast is our favourite!) and has toilet facilities and also free Wi-Fi. They are open 7 days a week, all year round, 9am - 4pm. If you're early, there is a pretty waterfall about 1 mins walk in one direction, and a small dam you can walk over in the other direction (both free).
Directions
By car, from the large town of Blaenau Ffestiniog take the A496 south out of the town (you'll start seeing brown signs for Tanygrisiau Station already). You'll turn off to the right onto a minor road, then an immediate left towards a lake. There is a large collection of vintage farm machinery in the field by the junction. A couple of hundred yards along the road you will see the Go Below sign on the right. Pull in and park. The Lakeside Cafe is slightly further along the road if you intended to visit there first.
You can also of course arrive at Tanygrisiau on the spectacular vintage narrow-gauge Ffestiniog Railway, using the same railway and station that brought supplies to and took slates from the mine you'll visit. Trains run from Blaenau Ffestiniog and Porthmadog.
For satnav - put in "Tanygrisiau Railway Station", not the postcode, as the postcode tends to send people to a nearby residential street.
